Margaret June McIntosh, 88, a long-time resident of Monticello died peacefully in her sleep with her children by her side at 9:40pm Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the Piatt County Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Bauler officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Intermnet will be held at Monticello Township Cemetery.
Margaret was born June 22, 1920 in rural Piatt County, the daughter of Ora V. and Jenie (Adkins) Alexander. She was raised by her Aunt and Uncle James W. and Myrtle (Adkins) Salling. She married Charles Lumsden McIntosh on May 6, 1939 in Palmyra, MO. He died February 22, 1996.
She is survived by her daughters: Rebecca (husband Dale( Keith of Rogersville, TN and Julia (Penny) Brown of Monticello, sons: Jim (wife Ann) McIntosh and John (wife Diane) McIntosh, both of Monticello. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a sister; Helen Wright of Monticello. She was preceded indeath by her parents, husband, son (Charles William McIntosh), brother (Fred Alexander) and sister (Wilma Doris Alexander Maile).
Mrs. McIntosh was a bookkeeper for the McIntosh Implement store and farmed with her son.
Memorials may be made to Kirby Hospital or the Piatt County Nursing Home.
