Ayurvedic Physician from India to Present Tips for Better Health

Enjoy an enlightening presentation from visiting Ayurvedic physician Dr. Anasuya Devi Bharadhwaja on Friday, May 16 from 3:00 to 6:00pm in Room D105.  The public is invited to attend this free lecture.

Dr. Bharadhwaja and husband Dr. Srivatsa Bharadhwaja operate the Dattam Ayurdhama, a clinic specializing in authentic Ayurveda food and therapies, situated at Mangalore in south India.  Dr. Anasuya Bharadhwaja will lecture and demonstrate simple Ayurvedic health tips, holistic remedies and cooking.

Ayurvedic medicine (Ayurveda), a holistic approach towards health with origins in ancient India, is practiced in many parts of the world.  It promotes healthy living and therapies  for physical, mental, social, and spiritual harmony and also includes a sophisticated system of surgery.  Parkland massage terapy students are required to know the basics of this traditional holistic therapy.

Dr. Bharadhwaja graduated with honors from SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi, earning the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery.  Her expertise lies in such areas as interpretation of ancient Ayurvedic texts, herbal plant identification, pulse reading, preparation of signature therapies, herbal remedies and Ayurvedic meals, emotional counseling, and Panchakarma treatments.
