William Greenarch, Jr., 83

William Clayton Greenarch Jr., 83 of White Heath, passed away at 3:13pm Saturday (February 20, 2010) at his family home in White Heath.

Graveside services will be at 11:00am Tuesday, February 23 at Ingram Cemetery, White Heath with Rev. Dalene Kuebler officiating and military honors conducted by American Legion Post 101, Monticello.  There will be no visitation.  Trigg & Calvert Funeral Home, DeLand is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the White Heath Methodist Church, White Heath Community Club or the American Legion Post 101, Monticello.

Mr. Greenarch was born on June 28, 1926 in Piatt County, the son of Clayton I. Greenarch and Mittie McClendon.  He married Dorothy Lee Cummings on September 10, 1949 in Seymour.  She survives in White Heath.

Other survivors include two sons, Mark Edward (Carla) Greenarch of Ivesdale and Dennis Clayton (Rhonda) Greenarch of DeLand; two daughters, Lisa Rose Greenarch of Cisco and Lori (Steve) Harper of White Heath; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Shaal of Monticello and Margaret Summers of Monticello; and one brother, Orville (Ruth) Greenarch of Champaign.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.

William worked for Clifton-Jacobs Forging Co. in Champaign for 42 years, retiring in 1992.

He was a Veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, stationed in China.

He was a member of the NRA and American Legion Post 101, Monticello.  He loved gardening, canning and hunting.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.
