Cynthia Alice (Eckhoff) Ayers, age 72 of Bement, formerly of Alexandria, LA, passed away at 1:50am, Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the Bement Health Care Center in Bement.

Memorial service will be held at 6:00pm Friday, October 3, 2008 at the Crestview Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 4415 N. Water Street, Decatur, with Rev. Michael Heiniger officiating.  Inurnment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, LA with a Memorial Service to be held there at a later date.  Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello is handling the arrangements.

Cynthia was born May 4, 1936 in East St. Louis, the daughter of Walter Frederick and Virginia Kathryn (Booth) Eckhoff.

Cynthia is survived by her daughter: Virginia (Lane) Rayburn of Monticello and 3 grandchildren: Albert L. Rayburn IV of Charleston, Charlotte Mae Rayburn and Katharine Louise Rayburn, both of Monticello, and cousin: Pamela (Mike) Roessler of Alexandria, LA.  She was preceded by her parents.

Cynthia was a housewife.  She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Pineville, LA and was past President of the Fraternal Order of Police Ladies Auxiliary in Ft. Walton Beach, FL.

Memorials may be made to the Bement Health Care Center.
