Diana L. Lake, 52 of Monticello, passed away at Carle Hospital at 7:36pm on September 25, 2008. 

Diana was born on October 18, 1955 the daughter of Dale and Judy Burke of White Heath.  She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents and her fraternal grandmother.  Diana is survived by her parents, husband Roger, son Joshua, sisters; Sherry (Carl) Porter and Kim Burke of Monticello, and Clayton (Kathy) Burke of White Heath.

Diana graduated from Monticello High School and was a secretary at the Carl Hospital when she met and married Roger Lake on August 29, 1981.  Their 27 years of marriage was the happiest time of their lives.  During her husband's career, she traveled to many parts of the world as an army wife, and enjoyed every minute of it.  She was a very happy, lovable and outgoing lady who never met a stranger.  Upon retirement from the Army, she made her home in Monticello with her husband and her son, Joshua.  She was a devoted wife and mother who put everyone before herself.  Her family w as her greatest joy and meant everything to her, nothing was more important.  Reading had to be her greatest passion, with the exception of her husband and son.  Diana will be sadly missed by her family and all the people who knew and loved her.

Services are being handled by Mackey-Wright Funeral Home wit the Rev. Dalene Kuebler officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, 215 E. Washington Street, Monticello.  The funeral service will be September 28, 2008 at 3:00pm at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with interment at the Ingram Cemetery in White Heath, Illinois.

Memorials may be made to an organization of the donors choice.
