Earl "EJ" Taylor, 72 of DeLand and Farmer City passed away 12:10pm September 24, 2008, at Manor Court in Clinton.

Mr. Taylor's services will be held at 10:00am Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Trigg and Calvert Chapel in DeLand, with Stephanie Soon, OSF Hospice Chaplin, oficiating.  Burial will be in DeLand Cemetery, DeLand.  Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00am Saturday at the Trigg and Calvert Chapel, DeLand.  Memorials may be made to the Earl "EJ" Taylor Memorial Fund.

Earl was born February 8, 1936 in DeLand, the son of Earl Marvin Taylor I and Thelma Black.  He married Patricia Joan Knickerbocker on February 9, 1956.  She passed away November 3, 1987.

Survivors include children, Earl G. Taylor III (Chong C.) of Urbana, Michael Dean Taylor (Angie) of Farmer City, Dennis James Taylor (Tina) of Clinton, Robert Taylor (Debbie) of Fort Myers, Florida, Mary Jane Brown of Rantoul, Carol Ann Andrews of Rantour and Carla Sue Hardwick (Eddie) of Clinton; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Jerry Taylor of Monticello; and two sisters, Charlotte ann Meiers (Don) of El Paso, Texas, and Francis Agnew (John) of Omaha, Nebraska. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jackie Lee Hunter, one grandson and two brothers.
