Kathleen Mae Mauck, 71, of Sullivan passed away at 7:15am Thursday, June 26, 2008 at John and Mary E Kirby Hospital, Monticello.
Funeral services will be at 1:30pm Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church, Sullivan, with Rev. Dr. Garry Gromley officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00pm Thursday, July 3, 2008 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Sullivan or the American Cancer Society.
Kathleen was born October 21, 1936, in Fairfield, the daughter of Roy E. and Etta Belle (Cox) Brown. She married James P. Mauck Sr. August 6, 1055 in Fairfield. She was employed at Kaiser Agriculture Chemicals, Sullivan Tubular Products and Kaskaskia Valley Animal Hospital, all of Sullivan.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sullivan and the Moultrie County Home Extension, Sullivan. Kathleen loved spending time with her grandchildren and she enjoyed playing bridge.
She is survived by her husband, James; sons Dr. James P. Mauck Jr. and wife Patty of Elkhard, Ind., Dr. Gregory A. Mauck and wife Kim of Sullivan; daughter Natalie S. McDowell and husband Brian of Monticello; brother Lee Brown and wife Margaret of Cisne; sisters Linda Hoskins and husband Grant, and Sharon Wilborn and husband Gene, both of Geff and sister-in-law Marilyn (Brown) Harrison of Fairfield; grandchildren, James III, Patrick, Daniel, Robert, Regina, Jonathan, Thomas and Madeleine Mauck, all of Elkhart, Ind., Jacob, Madison, John, Brent and Grace Mauck, all of Sullivan, and Andrew and Austin McDowell of Monticello.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy E. and Etta Belle Brown, and her brother, Bill Brown.
