Agnes M. Ahlrich, 97, of Monticello passed away at 1:30pm, Friday, June 27, 2008 at the Piatt County Nursing Home.  Private family graveside services were held at the Monticello Township Cemetery with Rev. Michael Eischen officiating.  Mackey-Wright Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Agnes was born November 9, 1910 in Bloomington, the daughter of Clemence J. and Nellie (Griffith) Brooks.  She married Clifford J. Ahlrich on August 24, 1946 in Springfield.  He passed away August 28, 1999 in Monticello.

She is survived by her son Philip Ahlrich of Monticello.  Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother.

Mrs. Ahlrich graduated from the old St. Joseph's Hospital in Bloomington in 1931.  She worked as a nurse at Mercy Hospital in Urbana, served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and then worked at Kirby Hospital in Monticello.  She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. 

Memorials may be made to Kirby Hospital.
