During the month of April, officers worked 68 criminal offense cases, they worked 3 accidents, made 7 criminal arrests, and wrote 68 traffic tickets.
The most frequently worked offenses were 26 City ordinance violations, reports of theft, arrests made on suspended drivers and 3 dog bite cases.
The following is a breakdown of police department statistics for the month: Officers worked 95 tours of duty, answered 168 dispatched calls, gave out 39 verbal warnings, answered 11 calls for roadside assistance to motorists, worked on 1 followup on active cases, went on 103 calls that did not require reports to be taken, conducted 290 residential vacation checks for local residents, conducxted 472 building security checks, officers assisted other departments in the area including the Illinois State Police and Piatt County Sheriff's Department a total of 17 times, answered 7 false alarm calls, performed 41 foot patrols in the downtown area, assisted on ambulance calls 9 times, assisted on 13 fire department calls, worked 1 public service detail, and officers responded 11 times on 911 calls.
