Residents Invited to Health Fair

Monticello residents can attend a Health Fair on Friday, May 16th, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the St. Philomena's Catholic Church, 1301 N. Market St. in Monticello.  General admission is free.

Organizations attending include Faith-in-Action, CarleRx Pharmacist, Kirby Ambulance, Coordinated Care Program, Kirby Hospital and the DeWitt-Piatt Bi-County Health Department.

Visitors can get free glucometers, health information and resources, blood pressure screenings, BMI calculations, diabetic education, cancer care information, learn about advanced directives, living wills, healthcare power of attorney, and get radon kits.  Door prizes, healthy snacks and goody bags are also available while supplies last.  Visitors can even get a free gift with registration for a chronic disease management class to be held in July.

This event is sponsored by the Illinois Department of Public Health, Office of Women's Health, Office of Health Promotion, the U.S. Department of Public Health and Human Services Office on Women's Health.
