The County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) together with traditional response organizations will host a "Community Information Session" inviting ALL Piatt County community based agencies, organizations and civic clubs, churches, etc., to discuss partnerships and roles in the event of a large-scale disaster.

Ms. Diane Logsdon, IPEM from Logsdon Consultation Services, Inc,. of Wonder Lake, Illinois will be in attendance.  Diane has an extensive knowledge and experience with the American Red Cross, Illinois Emergency Services Management Association, and is working through a grant for "Spontaneous Volunteer Management Plan" in local communities in the state of Illinois.

From the "Community Information Session," the Emergency Manager Coordinator with the help of community coordinators, will establish a core group of agencies and/or organizations who have a vested interest in appropriate management of spontaneous volunteers to be used county wide.  This group will continue to meet to help update the jurisdiction's Spontaneous Volunteer Management Annex to the Emergency Operations Plan.  This group will also work closely with the EMA/ESDA Coordinator and within the parameters of the local, county and state Emergency Operation Plans (EOP).

The meeting will take place in the auditorium on Sage Drive in Monticello, Illinois, on May 14, 2008 at 7:00pm.  Please come and listen to this information meeting and take it back to your community for evaluation.
