Lois Marie Bruhn Clodfelter, 92, of Monticello, Illinois, passed away on August 27, 2010.
Mrs. Clodfelter was born in Sidney, Illinois, September 17, 1917, the daughter of the late William and Magdalina (Witt) Bruhn. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1935. She married Owen E. Clodfelter on May 18, 1941. He preceded her in death April 23, 1973.
She is survived by one daughter, Penny Clodfelter of Overland Park, Kansas. She is also survived by two grandsons, Chad Marschik of Springfield, IL and Blake Graham of San Diego, CA, one granddaughter, Ashley Socin of Overland Park, KS, two great-grandsons, Quinn and Riley Marschik, Chatham, IL, and one great-granddaughter, who shared her middle name, Kamryn Ellen Marie Socin, Overland Park, KS. A grandson, Casey Fox, preceded her in death August 24, 1997. Her only surviving brother, Floyd Bruhn, resides in Champaign, IL. Mrs. Clodfelter was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Clodfelter was a legal secretary for many years in Monticello and retired from Americana Nursing Homes, Inc. She was a former member and officer of American Business Women's Association, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church. Mrs. Clodfelter loved her family, her country, and many squirrels, rabbits and birds she fed from her kitchen window. She was a firm believer in hard work, loyalty, and unconditional love. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 30, 2010 from 5:00-7:00pm. A private family inurnment will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Mahomet, IL at a later date. Memorials in her memory may be made to: Faith in Action, Piattran, Toys for Tots, or a service organization of your choice.
