During the month of July, officers worked on 33 criminal offense cases, made 14 criminal arrests, wrote 27 traffic tickets and worked 1 accident.
The following is a break down of other details worked on by officers during the month: 89 tours of duty, answered 140 dispatched calls, gave out 38 verban warnings and 21 written warnings, answered 5 calls for roadside assistance to motorist, worked on 8 follow ups on active cases, went on 106 calls that did not require reports to be taken, conducted 148 residential vacation checks for local residents, worked 7 escorts, assisted other departments in the area including Illinois State Police and the Piatt County Sheriff's Department a total of 15 times, assisted on 4 ambulance calls and 8 fire department calls, worked 7 public service details, responded 6 times on 911 calls, conducted 15 foot patrols in the downtown area, and did 3447 business building checks in town.
Most common details reported in July were criminal trespass to motor vehicle, theft from motor vehicle, driving with suspended/revoked licenses, violations of probation, domestic violence and drug arrests.
July was busy starting with the July 3rd Freedom Celebration and fireworks. We had good crowds and no problems to report. Officers were busy with numerous court cases, training and talking to preschoolers at Kairos school.
I'm pleased to inform that officer Jerad Nolin graduated from PTI Academy on July 29th and is currently in the FTO program preparing to assume his duty as a shift officer in the near future.
