During the month of January, officers worked 19 criminal offense cases, made 6 criminal arrests, wrote 24 traffic tickets and worked 9 accidents.

The following is a break down of other details worked on by officers during the month: 112 tours of duty, answered 151 dispatched calls, gave out 35 verbal warnings and 5 written warnings, answered 7 calls for roadside assistance to motorist, worked on 33 follow ups on active cases, went on 107 calls that did not require reports to be taken, conducted 483 residential vacation checks for local residents, answered 8 false alarm calls, assisted other departments in the area including Illinois State Police and Piatt County Sheriff's Department a total of 11 times, assisted on 2 ambulance calls and 2 fire department calls, worked 17 public servicedetails, responded 7 times on 911 calls, conducted 43 foot patrols in the downtown area, and did 5009 business building checks in town.

Most common problems reported during the month were domestic violence, battery, thefts and arrests for driving on a suspended or revoked drivers license.

Officers were busy all month working calls, school patrols and extra assignments in the business district as well as working through the snow storms we had during the month.

Every officers on the force has been working tirelessly conducting follow up investigations on the three major cases we have open: the First State Bank robbery, Boka Shoppe robbery and the Mobil Super Pantry break-in and theft.  We have been working with several other agencies including the FBI, Illinois State Police and other area police departments checking out all the numberous tips we've received.  Many man hours of work have been devoted to these cases all while keeping up with the demand of our day to day duties.
