No. Monticelloenews.com is a FREE service to readers provided by the City of Monticello, Illinois.  Aquila Power's economic development and public affairs department in Kansas City and Foth, Inc.in Champaign, are the underwriters making this website possible.

Is there a "letters to the editor" page? - [ Top ]
No, we do not have a letters to the editor section.  Nor do we have sections for editorial comments, cartoons, opinions or political pieces.

How do I contact the local cable access channel to have them include my event? - [ Top ]

For your convenience, there are several ways to get your event posted on Channel 2.  All event and announcement information for the cable access channel can be sent in electronically.  Go to www.cityofmonticello.net and under the "Cable TV" tab you will see a section called "submit event."  Click on the "event form" and fill in the spaces.  At the bottom of the page is a submit button.  Your event has now been sent to be added to the message board.

When submitting any event information, please include the following:
   *Name of the event
   *When the event takes place (time and date)  
   *Location of the event
   *Short description of the event
   *Contact information
   *Any pictures or images you wish to be included on the event slide.

Event slides will be posted pending administrator approval.
